There’s a reason 45,000 people came to the Homosassa Arts, Crafts & Seafood Festival in Old Homosassa this weekend. In fact, there are several, and they’re the same reasons thousands of people flock to this festival every year. From seafood, fried and blackened, to bakery items and fried green tomatoes, food is one of the festival’s main draws. Numerous food stops will offer a variety of items and there will be plenty of seating nearby. It’s all different kinds of food.

It's blackened and grilled; it's gyros and sausage and peppers — everything. It’s a nice mix. It’s not just all seafood.
You can browse (and buy) original artwork or other handmade items from some of the few hundred artists and crafters.
There are works in watercolor,

oil, acrylic and pastel, drawings, photographs, sculptures, glass, pottery, jewelry and wearable art.
Raffle tickets offer chances to win one of nine prize packages valued at $1,000 to $3,000. There was a boat raffle for a 14-foot Alumacraft boat with second, third and fourth prizes.
The festival is sponsored by the Homosassa Civic Club, which donates
proceeds from the event to local organizations.
This year we took advantage of "alternate parking" which offered a short
boat ride across the river and shuttle van right to the main entrance.
After the festival we were entertained at McCrays on the river with good music and a cold beer then a short boat ride back across the river to our car.
Planning to be in Citrus County during this annual festival sounds like a great idea to me and be sure to stay at Jan's Highland Guesthouse.
