Citrus County Court House - 1 Courthouse Square, Inverness, Fl.
The Old Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and houses a very unique museum.
Besides a presentation focusing on Citrus County history and heritage, the John Murray Davis rotating gallery highlights local and traveling artists. The second floor circuit courtroom has been rehabilitated to

its original splendor and boasts the location for the Elvis Presley courtroom scene in the 1961 film "Follow That Dream".
I was told that Elvis had "left the building" but there he was; standing at the entrance to the gallery. He readily agreed to a photo opportunity.
Those celebrities never tire of adoring fans.
Citrus County's Old Court House is the site for many activities throughout

the year. Four times a year the Sounds of Southern Exposure Jazz Band performs. The members of the band are extremely talented and the shows are well attended by the community.
Having traveled extensively between Miami and Naples Florida, I've had many opportunities to visit
Ochopee, Fl. and to photograph in that same area. There are not many people who brave the difficult swamps and cypress strands in order to understand the beauty and peace found in more than a million acres of swamps and land located in the Everglades of South Florida. Clyde Butcher has been able to capture Big Cypress Swamp through the lens of his large format camera.
I think Clyde Butcher is one of America's greatest living photographers
He is often compared to the legendary Ansel Adams. With his large

scale, black and white photography, he takes us deep into the Western Everglades and immerses us in his environment - one of the last, great places in the United States. What a thrill to meet Clyde and have him sign my one treasure that I bought 20 years ago.

More later,
Jan
